Metal Fabrication

A lot has happened the past few months; the shop has seen several new pieces of equipment arrive. The first to arrive was the new spot welder, that has several capabilities we did not have in the past. We can take photos of the part and identify locations for spot welding. The programs can be saved, just like the new Amada brakes, making it easier for the operator and for accuracy. With all new machines there will be things we may have to adjust or modify to meet the unique products we build for our customers. Next, we received the new belt sander, with a 12’ bed with two belts. The two belts give us a variety of options. We can block and then stroke without changing the belt, and we also have the ability to save programs for like sizes. The machine is working well and can be modified to match our customer’s needs. The third new machine is a Laser Turret combo. Currently, we have one laser with an impressive backlog. This new machine will help increase capacity and allow us to meet our customer’s schedules. It will also allow us to perform the work of 3 work centers (Laser, Punch and Tap). With the increasing competition in the market, these recent additions will allow Dawson Metal to compete and also set the standard.
