Responsible for the safe and accurate operation of the welders.



The following statements reflect the duties considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in this position.

  • Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with power saws to match measurements)
  • Setup fixtures and use them per work instructions
  • Operate grinders to prepare parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Test and inspect weld surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

  • Proven experience as a Welder
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedure (TIG, MMA, etc.)
  • Attention to detail


  • High School diploma or GED, Vocational or Technical Training
  • Professional Certification is a plus


  • 1-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedure (TIG, MMA, etc.)
  • Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE

Work Environment

  • Fluctuating plant temperatures
  • May be exposed to irregular hours, strict deadlines, and stressful situations
